2012 Season comes to an end

Everything good has to come to an end, but thankfully, bike seasons just seem to take a break.

2012 was a great year for Team ABCx.

Many new riders to our Tuesday night rides (which are on hold until the time changes), I think we had at least 10 people each night. We even started going out for dinner after the rides.

For Mamma Jamma our goal was to have 20 riders and raise $10,000. We had 22 register and 17 participate on ride day! But the best part was we raised almost $20,000 to directly help breast cancer patients in Central Texas!!! As of this post, we are team #5 in fundraising!

Many riders PR'd for distance, that is always exciting to witness!

So, for 2013, do we increase to 30 riders and shoot for $25,000 or $30,000?

Either way, hope you will join us in 2013 for Tuesday night rides & comaraderie and seriously think about joining us for the Mamma Jamma Ride, it's a great cause and lots of fun!

Tuesday night rides Summer 2012

Come join ABCx--Austin Bike Chix as they host rides on Tuesday evenings to get you prepared for biking on the road so you can ride with more confidence and join some of the longer rides that Austin hosts!

Did you just get a bike? Do you have a bike that you haven’t ridden in years? Does attending other group bike rides scare you? Have lots of questions that need answers? Want to participate in a charity ride, but don’t know where to start? Come ride with us!

ABCx Bike rides will get you acquainted with your bike in a friendly, non competitive manner. We’ll go for a 10.5-15 mile ride to get those legs moving in the right direction and get your heart pumping and build your confidence! Along the ride you’ll receive tips to help you become a better biker. These rides are best suited for the beginner rider who can comfortably ride 7-8 miles and is looking to increase mileage. Be ready to roll at 6:30, don't forget your helmet & water. Speaking of water, hydrate the day before & day of!

Who are the Austin Bike Chix? We are fun females who like to ride bikes and help get others involved in bike riding! Bike riding has empowered us in many aspects and we'd like to pass some of that power on!

Come August we will host 3 sessions of true beginner rides, especially for those training for the Mamma Jamma Ride

When: Tuesdays during the summer of 2012, 6:30 PM be ready to roll. If it is raining the ride will be cancelled. Check Facebook  & ACA for updates. We make the call at 5:45 to ride or not.
